OUR TRIP TO TURKISH WORLD CULTURAL NEIGHBOURHOOD

A "neighbourhood" consisting of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), R.F. Tatarstan, Balkans and R.F. Cultural Houses from the Bashkortostan was created in Turkish World Cultural Neighbourhood established in Topkapı Culture Park.
There are exhibitions reflecting the cultures of the countries in the houses allocated in the Turkish Republics of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, language courses are provided, their cuisines and crafts are introduced. These houses, which have flags of the countries they represent, are being coordinated by consulates and country representations in accordance with their mission as a bridge of communication and culture. Feasts such as Sabantuy, Nevruz and country independence days, which are unique to the Turkish world, are celebrated every year at the Topkapı Culture Park Culture Houses.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Culture is the combination of traditions, customs, beliefs, thoughts and art transferred from generation to generation in society. It is our duty to protect and convey our cultural elements to future generations. One country’s culture plays an important role to develop its national unity and solidarity.
Introducing cultures consists of a bridge of intercultural cooperation, love and peace. Cultures are enriched when they are shared, and historical heritage is better protected by introducing cultures.
Our project will be an intercultural bridge where students introduce their own country, culture, food, local costumes, plays, songs by using their research and analysis competencies.
AIMS
- to exchange knowledge and information about culture / one's country
- to learn, form ideas and an understanding about multiculturalism/diversity
- to create a greater appreciation for one's culture and for others
- to teach and promote respect and tolerance
- to show cultural similarities and differences without hate or prejudice
- to improve language skills with writing and speaking tasks
- to use web 2 tools and generalize them
- to increase pupils’ motivation, creativity and success.
- to allow the pupils to see the link between the project
- to increase pupils responsibility and autonomy in the classroom and for their own knowledge
- to support pupils’ creativity
WORK PROCESS
Introducing our schools and giving general information about our cities and countries. Creating eTwinning boards and posters about our project.
Introducing a historical place, telling a legend about this place, 
The partners send a postcard describing a historical place to each other
Introduction of local dishes
Introducing a traditional game and clothes
Introducing a local song
Sending thematic cultural package among partners
Video conferences among classes and teachers
Creating interactive digital dictionary and album 
 
EXPECTED RESULTS
In the end of the project we hope that the pupils would get a better understanding of what a culture is and how diversity, internationality, open-mindedness, tolerance and acceptance are essential in today's multicultural world.
To increase the sensitivity of students about cultural values.
To give students the ability to approach different cultures with tolerance.
To ensure that students save their own environment and share international cultural values
To use information Technologies effectively to increase intercultural communication.
We are going to create a website and blog of the project and an achieve dissemination of the use of technology in education in this website
